Rollover kills Sunnyside man

A 33 year-old man from Sunnyside, Wash., died after the semi truck he was driving rolled over on State Route 14 near Wishram Friday morning.

The Washington State Patrol identified the victim as Aaron Berg. The accident was reported at 6 a.m. near Milepost 95.

Investigation at the scene revealed that Berg was driving a 2000 International truck-tractor pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with steel girders, and was westbound on SR14. While attempting to negotiate a curve in the highway, the combination rolled over with the truck and trailer coming to rest on its top in the westbound lane of the highway.

Berg became trapped in the cab of the truck until rescue and fire crews were able to free him.

He was taken by ambulance to Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles where he died a short time later from the injuries received in the accident.
