Sen. Wyden town hall meetings Tuesday and Wednesday
Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore) will hold his 500th town meeting in Fossil Tuesday, Feb. 17. Number 499 will be held that morning in Gilliam County; number 501 later that afternoon in Sherman County. Wasco and Hood River counties meetings will be held Wednesday.
Wyden promised when he was elected in 1996 to hold a town hall meeting in every county every year.
Fossil was the site of Wyden’s first town hall meeting as a United States senator on the same date in 1996.
The Fossil town hall will be preceded by a town hall meeting earlier that day in Condon in Gilliam County and followed by another town hall in Moro in Sherman County. Those meetings will be followed by town halls Wednesday, Feb. 18 in Wasco and Hood River counties. Wyden will also tour renewable energy training program facilities in The Dalles during his visit.

TUESDAY
Gilliam County: Feb. 17, 9:30 a.m. at Condon High School, 210 E. Bayard, Condon
Wheeler County: Feb. 17, 1:30 p.m. at Wheeler High School, 600 B Street, Fossil
Sherman County: Feb. 17, 5 p.m. at Sherman County Senior Center, 300 Dewey Street, Moro.
WEDNESDAY
Wasco County: 9:30 a.m. at The Dalles-Wahtonka High School, 220 E. 10th, The Dalles. The meeting will be followed by a tour of the wind turbine training facility at Columbia Gorge Community College, 400 E. Scenic Drive, The Dalles, at 11:30
Hood River: 2 p.m. at County Courthouse Chambers, 309 State St., Hood River.
