Chimp arrives in Oregon town

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A wily Las Vegas chimp that escaped her cage and roamed the streets twice in one month has left town for a new home in Oregon.

CJ the chimp was picked up Tuesday from Las Vegas magician Dirk Arthur's home, where she was being kept after her second escape Saturday.

The trip is being supervised by the director of Chimps Inc., a sanctuary in Bend where CJ will be living with a handful of other chimpanzees, pending a tuberculosis test.

CJ and her companion Buddy made a highly publicized break from their neighborhood on July 12.
