TDW loses in five to Hermiston

In a pair of matches over the weekend, The Dalles Wahtonka was in action at Hermiston and in Wilsonville.

Thursday night versus Hermiston, the Eagle Indians lost in five games in one of their better and more spirited performances of the young season.

TDW won the first game 28-26, but then dropped the next two sets 25-20 and 25-14 against a fired up Bulldog squad.

TDW showed resolve in the fourth game, coming out with a 25-13 effort to force a fifth game.

It was a close battle, but things went Hermiston’s way, allowing them to claim a 15-12 win.

Olivia Starks had nine kills and the trio of Amanda Cimmiyotti, Maddy Bradford and Kathryn Kramer went 29-for-43 on swings for 12 kills.

Morgan Goslin went 73-of-75 on sets with 19 assists , and Starks added a 11-of-18 effort on blocks.

TDW lost in three games in a match to Wilsonville Saturday.
