Accidents

Oregon State Police

April 4, 10:05 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Highway 197 and Highway 97 junction. Juan A. Porcayo, no listed address and Gary Michael Mannini, no listed address; were the involved drivers. Porcayo left the roadway and hit a road sign dragging a large rock on the road. Mannini was not able to see the rock due to weather conditions and struck it causing damage to both axles. Both vehicles were towed. A report was taken.

April 4, 7:44 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 2500 block of West 8th Street on a report of an electrical problem. Resident advised they had something in the dryer and could smell something electrical burning. The unit was observed and no problem was found.

Personnel also responded to four calls for emergency medical services.

A found property report was taken Thursday morning from the 1700 block of Mt. Hood Street after a bicycle was found abandoned. The bicycle was taken to impound.

Police responded to the 1200 block of West 6th Street Thursday morning on a report of gun shots. Officer checked the immediate area but nothing was observed.

Travis Monroe Dodson, 30, 2010 West 8th St., was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 2700 block of West 10th Street on two circuit court warrants for probation violation.

Police responded to the 1700 block of West 10th Street Thursday afternoon on a report of a custody issue. Victim advised her ex-husband picked up their son from school even though it is her time with the child and he is refusing to give the child back. Officer advised the victim that this is a civil issue and she needs to contact her attorney.

A criminal mischief report was taken Thursday afternoon from the 1500 block of West 1st Street after an employee advised they had a vending machine that was damaged.

Police responded to East 8th and G streets Thursday afternoon on a report of a fight. Officer checked the area and no subjects were found. Several residents were contacted and no one observed an altercation.

Police responded to the 3200 block of West 6th Street Thursday afternoon on a report of a dispute. Employee advised a tenant came into the building and confronted staff about issues with his rental. The subject was trespassed from the building.

Police responded to the 1700 block of West 10th Street Thursday afternoon on a report of a domestic dispute. Caller advised her mother had hit her in the face during an altercation earlier in the day. The incident was logged.

A theft report was taken Thursday evening from the 3200 block of Bret Clodfelter Way after an employee advised a suspect left without paying for gas.

Police responded to the 900 block of Verdant Street on a report of gun shots Thursday evening. Several area residents were contacted and all signs pointed it was coming from a certain residence. That resident was contacted and they denied making any noise; they were warned of their conduct.

Lester Earl Hewitt, 50, 1510 East 13th St., was arrested Thursday evening in the 2800 block of West 2nd Street and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

Police responded to the 300 block of Lone Pine Drive Thursday evening after an employee reported a male transient was sleeping on the sidewalk and partially laying in the road. Subject was contacted and told to move along.

A telephonic harassment report was taken Thursday evening from the 300 block of West 6th Street after a victim reported a male subject continues to text her after being told not too; incident is under investigation.

Police responded to West 9th and Walnut streets early Friday morning after a caller reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana. The area was checked and no drug activity was found.

Wasco County

An offensive littering report was taken Thursday morning from Chenowith Road after a dump site was located; the incident is under investigation.

An assault report was taken Thursday morning from the juvenile detention facility after an assault occurred the previous day; the incident is under investigation.

Jerrod Wayne Miller, 31, 1112 Sunflower St., was arrested early Friday morning during a traffic stop on Chenowith and Murray roads and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Oregon State Police

Seth Green Tangen, 24, Meridian, Idaho; was arrested Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 106 and is accused of reckless driving.
