Covenant Christian

David Hogan, the founder of Freedom Ministries, will minister at Covenant Christian Church in The Dalles Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m., and Sunday, April 28, at 10 a.m.

Hogan and Freedom Ministries focuses on taking the gospel to the Indigena Indian tribes in Mexico. The Indigena population is about 10 million people, most of whom struggle with alcoholism, poverty and witchcraft.

Hogan and his team have been effective in starting more than 600 churches among these tribes, and say they have witnessed a high level of supernatural healings and miracles.

The Dalles Seventh Day Adventist

A three-day cooking class is offered at Seventh Day Adventist Church from April 30 to May 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the multi-purpose building (lower level) at 3339 E. 13th St. The free class features plant-based recipes, cooking demonstrations and samples, featuring legumes, grains and tofu. United Church of Christ

The United Church of Christ is celebrating Earth Day, Saturday, April 20, by participating in the denomination’s For One Earth project.

Members of the congregation have picked up trash in neighborhoods and parks this week. In worship, on Sunday, tree seedlings will be handed out to anyone who wants to plant a tree. The sermon will focus on earth stewardship. Coffee hour follows worship.

Fellowship of Churches

The Mid-Columbia Fellowship of Churches will have its Speaker Forum Tuesday, April 23, at 5 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, at 305 East 11th St., across from the high school.

The speaker will be Wasco County Circuit Court Judge Janet Stauffer, who will give an update on Youth Court and Drug Court. A light snack and coffee will be served.
