Solar presentation set May 1 in Sherman County

Sherman County wants to help residents install solar energy collectors on their homes and invites the public to a free dinner presentation May 1 at 6 p.m. at the Sherman County Senior Center in Moro to learn more.

Jessica Metta will give an informational presentation about how solar energy works, what average systems cost and how Sherman County has a no-interest loan for residential systems in the county.

With a solar electric or solar water heating system, property owners can enjoy free, reliable energy, protect themselves against rising energy prices and reduce project costs by 70 to 80 percent with incentives and tax credits.

Sherman County residents can get solar with no money out of pocket.

Pacific Power and Wasco Electric customers are welcome. Dinner will be provided, so RSVP to Jessica Metta, Mid-Columbia Economic Development District at 541-296-2266 or
