Faith Lutheran

Faith Lutheran Church is having an organ concert this Sunday, April 28, at 4 p.m., with Portland organist Helen Hollenbeck and Baroque trumpeter Murray Zenk, of White Salmon. Titled “Go for Baroque and Beyond,” the concert is free, but offerings are accepted to help fund Faith Lutheran’s music and mission programs. On three of the selections, the audience is invited to sing along. The concert features the music of Bach, Handel, Corelli, Telemann, Haydn, Rachmaninoff and festive Easter hymns. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Faith Lutheran is located at 2810 W. 10th St., The Dalles.

Gateway Presbyterian

This Sunday, Interim Pastor Rich Zimmerman will share the message at the 8:30 a.m. traditional service and 11 a.m. contemporary service. Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults are 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday programs are: a Parenting Today class at 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. youth group, 6:30 p.m. Men’s bible study, and children’s ministries.

Covenant Christian

David Hogan, the founder of Freedom Ministries, will minister at Covenant Christian Church in The Dalles Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m., and Sunday, April 28, at 10 a.m.

Hogan and Freedom Ministries focuses on taking the gospel to the Indigena Indian tribes in Mexico. The Indigena population is about 10 million people, most of whom struggle with alcoholism, poverty and witchcraft.

Hogan and his team have been effective in starting more than 600 churches among these tribes, and they have witnessed a high level of supernatural healings and miracles.

Seventh Day Adventist

A three-day cooking class is offered at Seventh Day Adventist Church from April 30 to May 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the multi-purpose building (lower level) at 3339 E. 13th St. The free class features plant-based recipes, cooking demonstrations and samples, featuring legumes, grains and tofu. A nine-week seminar on finances begins Monday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at The Dalles Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School. Preview of the class and sign-up is set for Monday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at the elementary school, 3339 E. 13th St. The seminar, Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, offers biblical, practical steps for reducing debt and spending and saving wisely. Each class is 90 minutes.
