Softball players vie for championship

The Dalles Parks and Recreation softball teams will play for bragging rights next week in the championship tournament that starts Monday, Aug. 5, and continues through Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Webber Street softball fields across from Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue station.

Games start each day at 6 and 7:15 p.m.

Entering the tournament, the Sandbaggers are leading the field with a 13-2 record. Zims also has a 13-2 record, but is in second place on scoring. Amerities rounds out the top three with an 11-3 record. Completing the league are McGlovin (10-6), Nelson Tire (9-7), Griffith Motors (3-13), Naked Winery (3-12), Steelhead (2-14) and SPR (0-17).
