Letter to the Editor: How much?

To the editor:

How much time and money was spent by the city attorney to mount a failed prosecution against someone advertising a garage sale? Is this a joke?

People should be outraged at the incompetence of our city officials. The city is spending taxpayer money to prosecute citizens having garage sales while our town is filled with empty store fronts and heroin is peddled to our children. How pathetic.

When will our city ban high-calorie sodas or demand leashes for cats? I suggest no job is too small or petty for these likeminded public officials. But as for living in a safe, prosperous city you may want to invest your money somewhere else.

City officials like Gene Parker and Nikki Lesich make The Dalles an undesirable place to live. Every community has garage sale signs but not every city has the reputation for corruption that Gene Parker has allowed this city to have. And we should all be mad as hornets that this is where they spend our time and money, harassing citizens instead of protecting children. This man will never be fired.

Apparently he knows where the bodies are buried and your local government must have a lot to hide.

Any business owner who was thinking of investing in The Dalles should take heed. The Dalles will do nothing to combat criminal activity but will invent new criminal activity to persecute local citizens.
