Accidents

Wasco County

August 15, 4:11 a.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury accident, Highway 197 near milepost 3. Driver information was not available. Semi driver swerved to avoid a group of deer in the roadway causing the semi to go on its side off the shoulder. Minor damage to the vehicle and a sign was knocked down. A report was taken.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

A hit and run report was taken Wednesday morning from the 100 block of East 3rd Street after a caller reported some drop boxes were damaged in the area.

A second-degree theft report was taken Wednesday afternoon from Sorosis Park after a victim reported a pack of fishing gear was taken from here last month at the location.

Gordon Lawrence Goudy, 52, 519 East 12th St., was arrested Wednesday evening from the in-lieu site on a municipal court warrant for contempt of court. He was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana.

John Scott Frizzell was arrested early Thursday morning at the hospital and is accused of two counts of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Police responded to the 3000 block of Old Dufur Road early Thursday morning after a resident advised that she could hear people walking in the gravel roadway and then ran off when she yelled she was calling the police. The area was checked but no suspects were located.

Wasco County

A theft report was taken Wednesday morning from the 6200 block of Upper Fivemile Road after a victim reported some tools were stolen. He called back later in the day to report the items were misplaced and found.

A theft report was taken Wednesday morning from Wamic after a victim reported a firearm was taken or lost from his possession.

Evelyn Ann Ancheta, 28, Celio Village, was arrested Wednesday evening in her home on a circuit court warrant for five counts of probation violation.

Jacob Aaron Bennick, 20, 614 East 20th St., was arrested Wednesday evening in the 5000 block of Discovery Drive on a municipal court warrant for second-degree failure to appear.

Tana Jo Tibbets, 38, 400 W. 15th St., was arrested Wednesday evening during a traffic stop at West 1st and Terminal streets and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Oregon State Police

Michael Anthony Mullikin, 29, Arlington, was arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday evening on Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 98 on a Tri County warrant for parole violation.

Aaron Leroy Schindler, 42, Fairview, was arrested Wednesday evening during a traffic stop on East 3rd and Court streets on a State Parole board warrant for parole violation.

Ismael Casteneda Diaz, 29, Wasco, was arrested Wednesday evening in his home and is accused of harassment and revisiting arrested. He was also arrested on two Sherman County warrants for probation violation.

CORRECTION: On the Aug. 13 The Dalles Chronicle youth page the list of upcoming school events incorrectly stated that the Sonrise Academy parent night was on August 7. It is on August 22 at 7 p.m. at the school.
