Body discovered at Ecola Falls

PORTLAND (AP) — A hiker discovered the body of a man in a creek near Ecola Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.

Lt. Steve Alexander of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said Friday afternoon that the terrain is difficult and Portland Mountain Rescue will help retrieve the body.

Alexander says it appears the hiker fell from the trail that’s above the creek, but the investigation is not over.

The man’s name won’t be released until relatives are notified.
