The Dalles City

December 6, 11:15 a.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, East 13th and Federal streets. Officer assisted with the exchange of information.

December 6, 1:22 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, West 6th and Walnut streets. Officer assisted with the exchange of information.

December 6, 4:41 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, 500 block of Mt. Hood Street. Officer assisted with the exchange of information.

December 6, 7:05 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 85. Officer assisted with the exchange of information.

December 9, 4:38 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, West 13th and Kingsley streets. Driver slid off the road into a fence, officer assisted with the exchange of information between driver and property owner. No report taken.

Wasco County

December 6, 7:27 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, 4100 block of Chenowith Road. Deputy counseled the driver about driving without traction devices in the weather conditions.

December 9, 12:11 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Fifteenmile Road. Vehicle slid off the road and popped a tire. Driver had arranged for their own tow, incident was logged.

Oregon State Police

State police responded to 68 motor vehicle crashes over the weekend on Interstate 84 and surrounding areas. Most of them occurred on Friday, Dec. 6.

Fire

December 6, 4:42 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 600 block of Wasco Drive on a report of a structure fire. Caller reported seeing large flames shooting from a home in the area. A burn barrel was found in the back of a residence, there was no structure fire. The resident was warned about the regulations of burning.

December 8, 7:07 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 3300 block of Columbia View Drive on a report of a water flow alarm. Upon arrival several staff advised there was a broken water pipe that had flooded several floors. Staff assisted with the removal of residents.

December 9, 12:057 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 3300 block of Columbia View Drive on a report of a fire alarm. Nothing was showing upon arrival. Staff advised there were issues with the alarm system since the previous incident, no problem was found.

December 9, 3:20 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 5000 block of Discovery Drive on a report of a smoke alarm. Nothing was showing outside the building upon arrival and there was no smoke found inside the building.

December 9, 7:59 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 3300 block of Columbia View Drive on a report of a water alarm. Upon arrival it was discovered that a pipe had broken in an upstairs unit and was flooding the unit below. The valve was shut off to the pipe and the resident was removed from the unit until the restoration crew could clean up the area.

December 9, 8:24 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 100 block of West 4th Street on a report of smoke coming from the wall. Upon arrival entry was made into the duplex where a occupant advised they saw smoke coming from their thermometer. The power was shut off to the unit and no further damage was observed. Occupant was advised to contact landlord to have issue fixed.

Personnel responded to eight calls for emergency medical services on Friday, seven on Saturday, two on Sunday and two on Monday.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

A hit and run report was taken Friday morning from Brewery Grade after a sign was found knocked down.

A theft report was taken Friday morning from the 1000 block of West 6th Street after an employee advised a suspect left the store without paying for their bill.

A theft report was taken Friday evening from the 700 block of Court Street after an employee advised a laptop was stolen.

Victor Stephen Campos, 33, 411 East 8th St., was arrested Friday evening in his home and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines and identity theft.

A burglary report was taken Saturday evening from the 500 block of West 11th Street.

Police responded to the 1200 block of Eric Court Sunday afternoon on a report of a wanted juvenile female present at her home. Contact was made with the suspect who was arrested and lodged at the juvenile detention facility.

A hit and run report was taken Sunday afternoon from the 1900 block of West 6th Street after an employee advised a new vehicle on the lot was struck sometime overnight.

Robert Andrew Rowan, 29, no listed address, was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 1200 block of West 6th Street on a circuit court warrant unlawful possession of methamphetamines, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and first and second-degree failure to appear.

A hit and run report was taken Sunday evening from the 2700 block of West 7th Street after a victim reported his vehicle was hit sometime while he was watching a movie in the area.

Richard Lee David, 43, 800 East 13th St., was arrested Monday morning at West 6th and Cherry Heights on a circuit court warrant for probation violation. He is also accused of third-degree theft and probation violation.

Police responded to the 600 block of East 3rd Street Monday afternoon after an employee had found some drugs on the premise. The drugs were seized and destroyed, a report was taken.

Kate Tamara Alvarez, 34, 805 Case St., was arrested Monday evening during a traffic stop at West 9th and Mt. Hood streets and is accused of third-degree theft and driving while suspended.

Travis Monroe Dodson, 31, 2010 West 8th St., was arrested Monday evening in his home on a circuit court warrant for two counts of probation violation. He is also accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

Wasco County

A hit and run report was taken Saturday morning from Wamic after PUD staff advised a power pole was struck. Several witnesses stated they knew where the driver lived but the deputy was not able to contact them for an interview; the incident is under investigation.

A theft report was taken Sunday morning from the 4100 block of Chenowith Road after a victim reported a male subject that was staying with her stole some items from her home; the incident is under investigation.

A runaway report was taken Sunday afternoon from Maupin area. The child was located at a grandparent’s house in The Dalles later in the evening.

A theft report was taken Monday afternoon form the 3500 block of Old Dufur Road after a caller reported being the victim of fraud; the incident is under investigation.

Oregon State Police

Rafael Diego Mendoza, 24, Kennewick, Wash., was arrested Friday evening during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 98 on a Deschutes County warrant for failure to appear. He is also accused of being a fugitive of ICE.

Regional Jail

Ryan Leonard Waid Wiese, 19, 3800 Sandlin Rd. was jailed Friday on a circuit court commitment for identity theft.

Victor Andres Rosado, 18, 1083 Irvine St. was jailed Sunday after turning himself in on a circuit court commitment for second-degree rape.

Galen Kent Yallup, 55, Toppenish, Wash., was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for endangering the welfare of a minor and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Angel Pedraza Martinez, 38, Pasco, Wash., was booked and released Monday on a circuit court commitment for false swearing on a vehicle title.

Aaron Mark Helseth, 38, 4451 Browns Creek Rd., was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for felon in possession of a restricted weapon and probation violation.

Michael Henry Holzboag, 70, Goldendale, was booked and released Monday on a circuit court commitment for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, and three counts of recklessly endangering.

Mayleen Adilene Ortez, 25, 965 Home St. was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for second-degree child neglect.

Ruthellen Ikaishia Mendoza, 25, 1009 East 9th St. was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for second-degree child neglect.

Tyler S. Nygaard, 27, 2109 View Ct. was arrested Friday afternoon in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.
