TDW XC gives out awards

Head coach Bob Thouvenel announced The Dalles Wahtonka Cross Country teams’ end-of-year awards to cap a solid 2012 fall campaign.

Emily Morin and Maddie Wood were named as outstanding female runners, the duo of Caela Dunagan and Katie Burns chalked up recognition as the Most Improved.

Both Avery Cardosi and Tai Rogers were named as Most Inspirational.

Also for the state-qualifying girl’s team, Wood and Morin were penciled in as first-team all-league representatives.

Morin garnered all-state honors as an honorable mention and the seven female participants who ran at state received OSAA participation certificates.

On the boy’s side, Elijah Kohltfarber was named as the team’s Most Outstanding runner for his top times all season.

Joe Linebarger had his name called as the Most Inspirational athlete.

Linebarger, a sophomore, and freshman teammate John Miller, had their names called as the Most Improved.
