Ski resort set to open

MT. HOOD – Mount Hood Meadows is announcing it ‘Meadows After Dark’ session at Mount Hood’s premier night riding and skiing resort for its season kickoff from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday.

They then plan on operating on the normal lift operational schedule for the rest of the season.

Those times are allotted at Monday and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Wednesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.

This schedule can change with weather and snow conditions. The resort reports having early season snow conditions on a 23-inch base, and advises watching for unmarked obstacles.

Meadows night lift passes are good from 3 to 9 p.m.

There are a few night opening specials offered such as a canned food drive where an item supports needy Hood River area families and is good for $5 off. This offer is valid through Dec. 20.

Skiers can purchase a specially priced online night lift pass (before Dec. 16) to use Wednesday or Thursday, Dec. 18 and 19.

A night season pass is also available.

Youngsters and beginners have an option to choose to learn skiing and boarding in a two-hour package deal for $50 (ages 13 and older).

The beginners program has a three-evening after-dark schedule (ages 13 and older).

The first two days include Buttercup beginner lift pass, last day is all night operating lift access.
