Redsides dropped by 2A Irrigon

South Wasco County has alternated wins and losses through the first five games of the season, suffering a 74-60 defeat at the hands of 2A powerhouse Irrigon Tuesday in non-league boy’s hoops action at Irrigon High School.

“[It was] a good game,” said SWC head coach Jim Hull. “We lost, but a hard fought game. It was good to see us competing well with one of top 2A teams in the state.”

David Ocacio led the Redside offense with 21 points, and Travis Hayes checked in with 14 points.

Nathan Duling had 12 and Loreto Morelli added nine points to round out the SWC statistical leaders.

The Redsides (2-3 overall) next travel to Culver this weekend for a pair of tournament games as part of the Culver Tournament.

The first game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. against Lost River. At 5 p.m. Saturday, the Redsides hit the court again.
