The Dalles Evangelical Church

The Dalles Evangelical Church will have a Christmas Eve Service, Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 8 p.m. Everyone is invited come and share in a time of singing Christmas carols and hearing the message of Christmas. Old St. Paul Episcopal

A Christmas morning service will be offered Wednesday, Dec. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Old St. Paul Episcopal Chapel, at 601 Union St. The service will be offered by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

First United Methodist

First United Methodist Church will have a candlelight service on Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. Then on Sunday, Dec. 29, First United will have a joint service of stories and carols at the United Church of Christ Congregational Church at 10 a.m.

UCC Congregational

The United Church of Christ Congregational is offering its third Longest Night Service on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 7 to 8 p.m. The Longest Night Service is a quiet alternative service that recognizes that for many people, Christmas time is stressful and not joyous. Sunday morning, Dec. 22, the church celebrates its fourth Advent with a children’s program during worship. Candlelight Christmas Eve Service will be Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.

St. Paul’s Episcopal

Sunday services at St. Paul’s are at 8 and 10 a.m., with child care and classes at the 10 a.m. service. Discussion hour is between services. There will be two Christmas Eve services at 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. All are welcome. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1805 Minnesota St. The Dalles. www.stpauls

The Church of the Nazarene

The Church of the Nazarene animated Christmas light show set to music will run nightly between 5 and 10 p.m. through Christmas. Music for the display can be heard through car FM radios at 87.9.

Friday and Saturday evenings, church members will provide coffee and hot chocolate for those who visit. The church will also have a Christmas Eve candlelit service at 5 p.m.

Gateway Presbyterian

Interim Pastor Rich Zimmerman will give the message, “Coming Home to a Different Dream,” at the 8:30 a.m. traditional and 11 a.m. contemporary worship service. From 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. will be adult, youth and children’s classes. There will be a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.

Wednesday programs start at 6 p.m. and include, The Marriage Course at the Riverenza; youth group, Women’s Study Beth Moore “James”; Men’s study and Parenting TODAY, which starts at 5:30.

A two week-class on the real meaning of Christmas, “Christmas Unplugged,” continues this Sunday, Dec. 22, at 9:45 a.m. and is led by Associate Pastor Tim Vance.
