First United Methodist

First United Methodist Church, 301 E 11th St. in The Dalles, is inviting the community to a Feb. 12 Shrove Tuesday pancake supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations will be accepted to send youth to a weekend retreat later in the month. For more information, call 541-296-4675.

Gateway Presbyterian

Gateway has 8:30 a.m. traditional and 11 a.m. contemporary services. Pastor Rich Zimmerman will be speaking. The church will also be ordaining and installing new elders this Sunday

Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. will be a movie night featuring silent short films in the gym.

Middle school youth group meets Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

ACTS (elementary age) after school program meets Thursdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Wednesday evening adult classes run from 6 to 8 p.m. and include women’s and men’s classes and children’s ministries. Parenting TODAY classes are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

MOPS, for mothers of preschoolers, meets the third Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

High school and college youth meet at Zion Lutheran Church for Teen Community Bible Study Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is a semester fee of $20, which covers dinner every Thursday plus a study guide.

St. Paul's Episcopal

Celebrate Shrove Tuesday on February 12 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Enjoy an “All You Can Eat” pancake supper includes sausage links and a drink. Cost is $5 per person, or feed the entire family for only $10.

The supper will be held in Tayler Hall at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1805 Minnesota St., The Dalles. Information: 541-296-9587,

Double Portion

Double Portion, from Saskatchewan Canada, will perform a free concert at Dufur Christian Church on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. at Maupin Church.

The five-piece gospel band is made up of one family. The father started the ministry 30 years ago with his sisters. The group has produced 17 albums and has several concert DVDs.

Annual Meeting

The Mid Columbia Fellowship of Churches will be holding its annual meeting and banquet March 2 at The First United Methodist Church, 305 East 11th. St.

Sr. Cecilia (Dr. Cecilia Ranger) will be speaking on The Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and the fellowship will give its annual report on its activities and goals.

The program will include a catered pork loin meal by Class Act Catering, election of officers, and a brief report from the student recipient of the fellowship’s scholarship. Tickets are $14 and must be purchased in advance by calling Bob McNary at 541-296-3313.

Christian Cowboys

The Fellowship of the Christian Cowboys is having a reunion Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center. Everyone is welcome to join in the fellowship and music. For more information call Dick LaFever at 541-999-0971.

Speaker’s Forum

The Mid-Columbia Fellowship of Churches speaker’s forum is Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church at 305 East 11th.Street, across the street from the high school.

The Dalles Municipal Court Judge Peachy will speak on how the municipal court is functioning. Light Snacks and coffee will be served.
