Get on board for Babe Ruth

The Dalles Babe Ruth baseball is holding its final signup day for local kids from the ages of 12-15 starting from 5:30-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22 at Quinton Street Ballpark.

Cost is $90 for the first child and $75 for additional family members.

Any signups after this date will be assessed an additional $20 fee.

Parents are to bring a copy of birth record.

Little League open for kids

The Dalles Little League program has kept its doors open for all local baseball players from the ages of 5-12 years for online registration 24 hours a day for play this spring.

Two more in-person sign-up dates have been added.

The first one is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Dalles Wahtonka Gym this Saturday.

The second assessment day is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 . On both of those days, coaches will conduct minors and majors assessments.

This Saturday’s assessment phase runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the TDW gym.

Cost is $67 for the first child and $47 for each additional child.

T-Ball kids are $52.

Cherry Crush holding tryouts

The Dalles Cherry City Crush 10U softball program is announcing tryouts for the girls traveling team.

Tryouts start at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Wahtonka High School.

Coaches ask that players wear inside shoes or court shoes only.

All players must bring all equipment, including glove, bat and a helmet.
