February 27, 11:56 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, 100 West 13th Street. Officer assisted with information exchange, no reports or citations were issued.
February 27, 2:59 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, Interstate 84 exit 87 off ramp. Officer assisted with information exchange.
Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue
February 27, 1:25 p.m. – Crews responded to the 1300 block of West 6th Street on a report of a second-alarm structure fire after a caller reported seeing black smoke coming from behind a building. Contact was made with a manager who advised their pop machine started smoking and they unplugged it. The building was searched and no other signs of damage were found. The cause was an overheated motor in the pop machine; the soda company was advised and would send someone to fix it.
The department also responded to four calls for emergency medical services.
The Dalles City
Police responded to the 1000 block of West 9th Street Wednesday morning on a report of an assault. Victim called reporting a client punched him in the face. Contact was made with the suspect who was counseled on her actions. The victim declined to pursue charges.
Police responded to East 13th and F streets Wednesday morning after a witness observed several juveniles playing with matches and a gas can. Contact was made with the subjects who were all counseled on their actions and skipping school. Middle school administration staff advised they would handle the situation.
Police responded to the 800 block of Home Court Wednesday morning after receiving an incomplete 911 call. Officer made contact with the resident and advised they were having a verbal altercation with a neighbor. Both subjects were counseled on their actions.
Police responded to the 3100 block of West 7th Street Wednesday morning after a victim reported their home had been vandalized with graffiti. The incident was logged.
A burglary report was taken Wednesday morning from the 1300 block of F Street after a victim reported their home was broken into the day prior.
Police responded to the 1900 block of West 2nd Street Wednesday morning on a report of threats. Victim stated an employee was fired the previous day and continues to call and make threats to other employees. The incident is under investigation but no report was taken.
Police responded to the 800 block of West 6th Street Wednesday afternoon on a report of a disturbance. Caller reported a female subject was flagging cars down in traffic and was wearing a costume. Contact was made with the subject who was protesting her children being taken from her. She was advised to move along and stop impeding traffic and she complied.
A found property report was taken Wednesday afternoon from the 1100 block of West 10th Street after a caller reported a bicycle was left on their property. The bike was taken to impound.
Police responded to the 400 block of East 7th Street Wednesday afternoon after a caller reported a female was impeding traffic and causing a disturbance. Police made contact with the same subject they contacted earlier in the day. She was warned of her conduct and advised she could face criminal charges if the behavior continued.
Police responded to the 2600 block of West 6th Street Wednesday evening after a caller reported some subjects in a vehicle were littering. Contact was made with the vehicle and the male subject advised he dropped a cup out of his vehicle accidentally and was going to pick it up after he ate his food; he picked up the garbage and went on his way.
Police responded to the 3300 block of West 6th Street Wednesday evening on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Employee advised a male subject was in possession of some items that had been taken earlier in the day by a female suspect and he was attempting to return them without a receipt. Male suspect was contacted and said a friend asked him to take these back and he was unaware they had been shoplifted. He was trespassed from the store and the items were returned.
Police responded to the 1000 block of East 9th Street Wednesday evening after a caller advised a male subject was talking on his phone outside on the street, loudly keeping their children awake. Contact was made with the subject and he was told to keep it down.
Police responded to East 10th and I streets Wednesday evening on a report of a fight. Caller reported several subjects were outside and were involved in a physical altercation. Contact was made with all the subjects involved who were intoxicated. There were no signs of a physical altercation and they were warned of their conduct and advised to keep it down.
Deputy responded to a piece of property on Highway 30 and Chenowith Creek roads Wednesday morning after the property owner advised there are some subjects camping on his property without permission. The camp was located but no one was there. A note was left for them advising them they needed to move along.
A runaway report was taken Wednesday afternoon from the 4100 block of Chenowith Road. Mother called back later in the evening to report her juvenile son had returned home; he was removed from the system.
Mark Scott Bowlin, 49, Moro, was arrested Wednesday afternoon during a traffic stop in Moro and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Parole and Probation
Matthew Joseph Cobos, 35, 1106 Emerson Dr., was arrested Wednesday evening in the community corrections office and is accused of two counts of parole violation.
