Hunting classes are planned

Hunter education classes are upcoming for outdoor enthusiasts from The Dalles, Hood River, Lyle, Goldendale and Sherman County in the upcoming 2013 season.

A hunter education card is required for hunters that are 17 years old and younger.

These classes teach an overview of hunter ethics, wildlife management, survival, game care, firearm safety and handling along with other hot topics so students can enjoy wildlife in a safe and ethical manner.

Interested parties register for classes online at or through the ODFW website.

Costs are set at $10 per student to pay online.

Regular classes start on Jan. 11 and April 5.

The home study portion starts on July 20.
