Jan. 8, 2:17 p.m. – Single-vehicle versus parked car, non-injury accident, 300 block of Union Street. A vehicle slid into a parked car in the area. Officer assisted with information exchange.

Jan. 8, 8:57 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 100 block of West 2nd Street on a report of a panel alarm. Upon arrival nothing was showing. Investigation discovered problem with sprinkler system. The alarm was reset and the building manager was going to call a repairman.

Jan. 8, 12 p.m. – Personnel responded to Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 87 on a report of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival smoke and steam were coming from under the vehicle. Vehicle towed.

Personnel responded to six calls for emergency medical services.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Police responded to the regional jail Tuesday morning after a victim reported a man was waiting for her after she got out of jail, which was a violation of a restraining order. No restraining order on file, no crime.

A theft report was taken Tuesday morning from the 700 block of Veterans Drive after a victim reported his cell phone was stolen.

Police responded to the 100 block of West 8th Street Tuesday morning on a report of a domestic disturbance. The caller was unable to give an exact location, but had overheard some yelling in the area. The area was searched but no sign of a dispute could be located.

A report was taken Tuesday afternoon from the 200 block of West 5th Place after a victim reported someone broke into their vehicle overnight.

Police responded to the 1600 block of East 14th Street Tuesday afternoon on a report of a domestic disturbance. Mother advised she was involved in a physical altercation with her daughter and this has been an ongoing issue. Neither wanted to pursue charges for harassment.

Police responded to the 400 block of East 7th Street Tuesday evening on a report of a suicidal subject. The woman had a small cut on her arm. She denied being suicidal and was just blowing off steam. She was taken to the hospital voluntarily for an evaluation.

Police responded to the 700 block of Union Street Tuesday evening on a report of two people fighting in an apartment. A man was contacted and he denied fighting. Several holes were punched through the walls of his apartment. The property manager was notified.

Terrance Garrett McDonald, 53, Celilo Village, was arrested early Wednesday morning in the 300 block of West 2nd Street on a municipal court warrant for second-degree failure to appear.

Eva Noreen Summers, 63, 901 Snipes St., was arrested early Wednesday morning at her home and is accused of fourth-degree assault.

Wasco County

Deputy responded to the 4300 block of Browns Creek Road Tuesday afternoon on a report of telephonic harassment. Female victim reported a former co-worker was continuing to text her after being told to stop.

A sexual harassment report was taken Wednesday afternoon from the regional jail.

Deputy responded to the 3600 block of West 13th Street Tuesday evening on a report of a domestic disturbance. Caller advised hearing people yelling and possibly throwing things in the apartment. The two parties advised the argument was verbal.

Oregon State Police

A male driver was cited and released for no operator’s license and driving uninsured during a traffic stop on Chenowith and Sevenmile roads; the vehicle was impounded.

A male driver was cited and released for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 83.

Regional Jail

Alvin Cecil Watkins, 44, Yakima, was transported to the regional jail Tuesday by Klickitat County where he was arrested on a Sherman County warrant for probation violation.

Marshall Brian Best, 39, 3564 East 2nd St., was transported to the regional jail Tuesday by Clatsop County where he was arrested on a circuit court warrant for parole violation.

Public Meeting

Wednesday – Port of The Dalles commission, 7 p.m., port conference room, 3636 Klindt Drive, The Dalles. The port will dine at the Hi-Way House before the meeting. Agenda: visitor business, financials, staff report (monthly highlights, SDAO annual conference, set audit presentation date, development update, marina update), executive session on real property transactions, current litigation and privileged legal communications.
