Fire

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

January 24, 1:50 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 2400 block of East 18th Street on a report of a smoke investigation. Homeowner had called to advise there was a fire in the heat pump that had burnt out. Nothing was showing upon arrival. Owner had heard a pop noise and took the cover off the furnace and observed flames coming from motor. Power was turned off to the unit which extinguished the fire. No further issues were found.

January 24, 10:36 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 2000 block of Sevenmile High Road on a report of a power pole fire. Caller heard loud popping and electrical buzzing coming from a power pole in the area. Crews located the pole and observed no further signs of damage. Power company came to relieve fire staff.

Personnel responded to three calls for emergency medical services.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Daryl Dean Coleman, 31, 1529 East 12th St., was arrested Thursday morning in the 300 block of West 6th Street on a circuit court warrant for parole violation. Leroy Charles Shockley Jr., 44, 919 Pomona St. Apt. B, was also arrested and is accused of parole violation.

Luis Eduardo Munoz Pedraza, 20, 900 Vey Way Apt. 304, was arrested Thursday afternoon at West 6th and Pentland streets and is accused of second-degree disorderly conduct.

Police responded to the middle school Thursday afternoon on a report of a student in custody for having tobacco products. Juvenile was cited for minor in possession of tobacco and released to their mother.

Police responded to the 1200 block of West 6th Street Thursday afternoon on a report of a domestic disturbance. Contact was made with a male and female subject involved who were arguing over cigarettes. It was determined this was only a verbal altercation and the subjects were warned of their conduct.

A hit and run report was taken Thursday afternoon from East 9th and Clark streets. Suspect vehicle was later found and the incident is under investigation.

Katrina Louise Panko, 27, 4109 Chenowith Lp. No. E-24, was arrested Thursday evening at West 7th and Snipes streets and is accused of third-degree theft.

A runaway report was taken Thursday evening from the 2000 block of East 13th Street.

Police responded to the 2100 block of West 6th Street Friday evening on a report of a possible drive off. Employee stated a suspect attempted to pay for gas but the employee didn’t realize the card had been declined and the suspect drove away. Information was logged.

Wasco County

An unlawful entry into a motor vehicle report was taken Thursday afternoon in Maupin after a victim reported someone attempted to break into their vehicle and left their screwdriver behind.

A lost property report was taken Thursday afternoon from the 4500 block of Mill Creek after a victim reported they lost their cell phone in the area.

A stolen vehicle report was taken Thursday afternoon from Maupin.

Deputy responded to the 3800 block of West 10th Street Thursday evening on a report of a domestic dispute. Contact was made with the mother and siblings who were fighting. During the fight a door was broken. One juvenile was cited for third-degree criminal mischief. One of the sisters will stay away at a friend’s home for the evening.

Deputy responded to the 4700 block of Sevenmile Road early Friday morning on a report of a domestic dispute. Contact was made with the subjects involved who advised they were having a verbal altercation. The male did grab the females arm at one point during the altercation but she declined to pursue charges. The male half left for the remainder of the day.

Parole and Probation

Daniel Lee Jackson, 62, 1416 East 10th St., was arrested Thursday morning at his home and is accused of violation of post-prison supervision sanctions.

Justin Mychael Horrell, 30, 1609 East 12th St., was arrested Thursday afternoon in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.

James Edward Wham, 25, 722 East 14th St., was arrested Thursday in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.
