SPRINGFIELD (AP) — A Springfield cat breeder accused of trying to kill two Persian cats by tossing them in a river has been barred from owning any domestic animals for 15 years. Betty Ann Gould entered “no contest” pleas Thursday in municipal court to two misdemeanor counts of attempted aggravated animal abuse. Police were able to rescue the two cats from the Willamette River in late November. The animals had been put in a bag before being thrown in the water.
