Dufur — With sole possession of first place on the line, the No. 10 Dufur Rangers blitzed Sherman early and rode a first quarter lead to a 47-31 victory over Sherman Friday in Big Sky Conference girl’s basketball play in Dufur.
The spearhead to their first-quarter surge was the defensive play of the state’s eighth-ranked scoring defense (31.9).
