Accidents

A non-injury accident occurred in the eastbound lane of Interstate 84 near milepost 97 Wednesday morning after a vehicle’s tire suddenly went flat, causing it to strike a concrete barrier and come to rest on the road facing the wrong direction.

A non-injury accident occurred on Highway 97 near the intersection of 293 after vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

A non-injury accident was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2400 block of West 6th St. after a driver ran into a second vehicle.

A non-injury accident occurred in the 100 block of Madison Street late Wednesday evening after a forklift hit a parked vehicle.

A non-injury accident occurred on Highway 30 on Thursday afternoon when a vehicle sideswiped a guardrail and went off the road.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Officers took a report for the theft of a car from the 2700 block of West 7th St. Wednesday morning.

Police took a call Wednesday morning from the 200 block of West 7th St. stating that a man was threatening to burn a house down. Siaasu “Josh” Melei, 27, 104 W 10th St., was arrested on a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

A theft report was taken Wednesday morning from the 1100 block of West 5th Place after a caller reported their bike had been stolen.

A theft report was taken Wednesday from the 500 block of Cherry Heights Road after a caller reported the wheels and tires had been stolen off their vehicle.

A hit and run report was taken Wednesday from the 5400 block of Hawley Road.

An identity theft report was taken Wednesday afternoon after a resident reported they had lost their credit card in the 1400 block of West 6th Street and the card had been used multiple times since then.

A theft report was taken from the 1000 block of West 8th Place after a caller reported their iPod had been stolen out of their vehicle.

A burglary report was taken Thursday morning from the 2400 block of West 2nd Street after a caller reported that someone had broken into a building a stolen a pickup truck full of equipment.

An investigation was opened Thursday morning from the 3400 block of West 10th Street after a juvenile reported a man offered her a job, hugged her and then grabbed her inappropriately.

A report was taken and forwarded to the city attorney for review after a caller in the 1500 block of East 9th St. reported that a dog had bitten their child on the arm, drawing blood.

A report for criminal mischief was taken from the 1300 block of West 6th Street early Friday morning after a caller reported a window had been broken sometime during the night.

Officers took a report of possible elder abuse after a patient showed up at the hospital with injuries for the sixth time in the space of about a month.

A criminal mischief report was taken from the 2700 block of West 7th St. Friday morning after a caller reported someone had thrown a rock through their window.

Police responded to 13 reports of illegal fireworks around town on Thursday night. Two of those were reported as gunshots but officers determined upon arrival that they were most likely caused by fireworks.

Wasco County

A report was taken from the 4700 block of Adeline Way on Wednesday after a caller reported someone had been siphoning gas from their vehicle.

Rod Christopher Rosette, 43, 906 Mt. Hood St., was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a circuit court warrant for theft in the first degree.

A criminal mischief report was taken Wednesday afternoon from the 2000 block of Lambert Street after a caller reported someone had cut open a fence and trespassed in an orchard.

Lon Martin Chavez, 27, Beaverton, was arrested Thursday morning at the intersection of Second Street and Cherry Heights on one charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Multiple parties were trespassed from the 4100 block of Chenowith Road Thursday evening after a fight broke out but no one wanted to press charges.

A driver described as weaving all over the road refused to stop for deputies and soon crashed into an embankment around the 1900 block of West 6th St. Michele Elaine Buckles, 22, 1034 E 14th St., was arrested early Friday morning on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, attempting to elude a police officer and reckless driving.

Deputies responded to three reports of illegal fireworks Thursday evening.

Oregon State Police

A driver was stopped for a lighting violation Thursday evening and was cited for driving with no insurance.

Regional Jail

Adam Damien Chandler, 30, 106 E 7th St., was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of unlawful delivery of heroin and delivery of an imitation of a controlled substance.

John Scott Belknap, 51, Mosier, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of second degree criminal mischief.

Ryan Allen Perkins, 20, 1815 Mount Hood St., was arrested Wednesday for probation violation.

Abben Holt Boorman, 19, 1610 Garrison St., was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a bench warrant for failure to appear.

Travis Wayne Bledsoe, 35, Tygh Valley, was arrested early Friday morning on charges of carrying a concealed firearm, theft in the first degree, unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of menacing and four counts of recklessly endangering.

Parole and Probation

Rodger Ray Welch, 28, Bingen, was transported to the jail Wednesday on a charge of probation violation.

Kimberly Kaye Hawkins, 36, 1300 E 14th St., was arrested Wednesday on a charge of probation violation.

Correction

In the June 28th Chronicle, it was listed that Michael J. Miles Jr. resided at 5226 Cherry Heights Road; the subject does not reside at this address.
