Fellowship of Churches awards scholarship

The Mid-Columbia Fellowship of Churches is awarding The Marvin D. Jones Scholarship of $800 in 2013.

A minimum of six months of documented non-use or sobriety is required of applicants accepted by or enrolled in a post-graduate educational institution. A minimum of six months documented sobriety for adults in recovery or teen attendance in Al-a-Non is required. The order of protocol:

  1. post-graduate in recovery, already attending a college or trade school,

  2. an adult alcoholic/addict in recovery wanting to pursue further education,

  3. a young person in Al-a-Teen coping with addicted parent/parents; if addicted themselves, they must have a minimum of six months sobriety.

Applicants must be in good standing in their current educational institution or have been accepted by an educational institution. The grant money will go to the institution attended by the grant recipient.

An application will be mailed to you. A personal interview with the selection committee is required. The applications are to be received by a committee member or postmarked by July 12.
