The finals are now set in stone for The Dalles Little League supremacy.
In the Minors division, the No. 1 D-Backs hit the field Saturday against the No. 2 Pirates for a shot at a title game berth.
The D-Backs came away with a resounding 13-1 triumph in their only tournament matchup against the Yankees, who advanced another round after a 17-16 triumph over the Orioles.
While the D-Backs had an easier road to the championship rounds, the Pirates dealt a 13-10 win to the Phillies on Monday.
If that outcome wasn’t tense enough, the Pirates faced off against the No. 6-seeded Red Sox on Wednesday on Kramer Field and came away with a nip-and-tuck 9-8 decision to surge into the finals.
On Tuesday, the No. 6-seeded Red Sox kicked off their run with a close 10-9 win over the No. 3-seeded Reds. This was a game where all of the bounces made the biggest differences, the Red Sox pulled off the upset with a close, 10--9 victory.
That Minors title contest will be settled in front of the community at 10:30 a.m. on Field 1.
On the Majors side, the No. 1 Giants had no difficulties in their first-round matchup Tuesday, with a lopsided 13-4 victory over a No. 4 Cubs team that beat the Cardinals 6-5 on Monday.
One day later, the Athletics tackled the White Sox for a shot at keeping their seasons going.
It was a close game throughout, but the Athletics inched away late for an 8-5 win.
The majors championship game is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
After the title games, the all-star teams will be assembled for continued play during the summer months.
