Registration open for kids’ Doggie Days

— Registration is now open for Doggie Days Summer Camp for children at Home at Last Humane Society. This week-long day camp takes place Aug. 5-9 from 8 a.m. to noon at Home at Last.

Activities include dog walking with Animal Behavioral College Certified Dog Trainer Gale Simpson, animal themed arts and crafts and story time.

Campers will also learn how to safely interact with dogs. Story time features “The Puppy Place” series of books. This series of books is about a family that fosters dogs for their local humane society.

“We are thrilled to have Cynthia Owen Caudill on board to facilitate camp,” said Executive Director Kris Boler. “Cynthia is a teacher and facilitates other camps in the gorge, her experience and passion for teaching children will make this a camp to remember.”

Home at Last will host a community barbecue and open house on the last day of camp; the campers’ arts and crafts work will be featured.

Camp scholarships are available with special thanks to NW Natural. For more information or to register a child for Doggie Days Summer Camp call Home at Last at 541-296-5189 or email
