Mr. Boyet is being supplied with misinformation frequently found on biased antifluoridationist websites. Unlike reputable sources such as the CDC, the EPA, the ADA, the FDA, the WHO, and others of like stature from where accurate information on fluoridation can be readily obtained, antifluoridationists answer to no one for misinformation that is posted on their websites. They can and do post whatever they want, with no fear of repercussions from anywhere.

In regard to "pharmaceutical-grade", Mr. Boyet's reliance upon misinformation from antifluoridationist websites is an excellent example of the danger of not accessing accurate information from reliable, respected, and original sources.

From the CDC fluoride fact sheet:

"Some have suggested that pharmaceutical grade fluoride additives should be used for water fluoridation. Pharmaceutical grading standards used in formulating prescription drugs are not appropriate for water fluoridation additives. If applied, those standards could actually increase the amount of impurities as allowed by AWWA and NSF/ANSI in drinking water."

"Given the volumes of chemicals used in water fluoridation, a pharmaceutical grade of sodium fluoride for fluoridation could potentially contain much higher levels of arsenic, radionuclides, and regulated heavy metals than a NSF/ANSI Standard 60-certified product.

Thus, paying heed to the misinformation supplied by Mr. Boyet, could actually lead to higher levels of arsenic in the water.

As water fluoridation is a public health initiative it does not require "consent" from individuals. Raising the issues of "consent" and "mass medication" are nothing more than transparent attempts by antifluoridationists to cloud what is a clear-cut issue. The "medication/consent" gambit has been repeatedly tried on courts in frivolous lawsuits filed by antifluoridationists. It has been repeatedly rejected by those same courts as having no foundation whatsoever.

Dalles, listen to the experts who know what they are talking about. In the 68 year history of water fluoridation, there have been no proven adverse effects at the concentration level at which is fluoridated. The benefits have been well documented in countless peer-reviewed studies through the decades. The cost of increased dental bills to both individuals and taxpayers, through increased costs to Medicaid and other publicly funded health assistance programs, would be astronomical in comparison to what is now paid for fluoridation.

There is no valid reason to discontinue the proven beneficial public health initiative. Of water fluoridation. Listening to the misinformation of those such as Mr. Boyet, who simply regurgitate what is fed to them from antifluoridationist websites, will lead to nothing but problems.

The fluoride that is put into the city water is not a natural fluoride. It is a DRUG, the FDA has labeled it as a DRUG, so because of the Pure Food and Drug Act the city is putting a drug into the water supply illegally, the end. Look up"> and do your own research. Don't let the white coat that a dentists wears fool you. All they are are DENTISTS not scientists or REAL doctors. Most dentists are misinformed themselves because they are pressured into promoting fluoride by organizations that they themselves are apart of like the ADA and only site information about cavity prevention. The majority of the their information is data from their organizations. They never site all the harmful effects fluoride does to the human body. There are many dentists out there that have realized this and do not promote water fluoridation. These dentists have realized they were wrong and are now trying to help. Please educate yourself on water fluoridation, your health depends on it.

The only argument any dentist or MD has is that water fluoridation prevents cavities. Here is information that their claims are very misleading. They do not have strong evidence backing up their claims and should stop using inconclusive data that mislead the public.

This information was provided by

"If you compare the Portland Metro area to the CDC’s statewide cavity rates ... the Portland Metro area would actually rank as having the 15th lowest cavity rate in the U.S."

Look up and research the facts.">

Oregon Dental Association has a bigger agenda than just keeping fluoride in The Dalles water supply. They want to mass medicate the whole state at OPTIMUM fluoride levels. Optimum means the greatest degree or best result obtained or obtainable under specific conditions. Optimum levels could mean even higher dosing than what they already do with a DRUG that is harming our health. Please don't let them mislead you into believing that the "poor"children need water fluoridation to prevent cavities. I've read paper after paper from health officials talking about the percentages of children with cavities. I want the proof that the percentages of tooth decay are not related to poor dental hygiene and poor diet. Why should I be fluoridated because parents don't feed their children healthy food and brush their teeth? Has anyone ever thought of that? Child obesity in this country is ridiculous. Wouldn't poor nutrition contribute to poor teeth and gums? I'm going to say yes! This is only my opinion but I'm sure if you looked at any study done on obesity in the US you will see an increase in every town. I'm pretty sure after kids choke down a couple fast food burgers, fries, ice cream and coke they are not rushing to brush their teeth afterwards. Again that's my opinion. This is just something to think about when the white coat wearing dentists and MDs talk about percentages concerning cavities and tooth decay.">">">">">

The dentist commenting here isn't even from The Dalles OR. He doesn't have to drink the toxic DRUG fluoride that is being put in YOUR drinking water.

If everyone wants to believe a Dentist then look into Dr David Kennedy DDS. Dr. Kennedy, Past President of International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer on toxicology and restorative dentistry as well as a practicing Dentist for 20 years, explains why fluoride has been scientificially proven to be harmful.">

There was new evidence presented on the day of the city counsil meeting but they only listened to the white coats that were obviously brought in to manipulate the city council. I suggest you also educate yourself as should everyone on the harmful effects of putting toxic waste into our water supply.">
