To the editor:
This might not be newsworthy, but a fine young man from The Dalles was a big hero for me and my family last weekend. While traveling on I-84 pulling the horse trailer with a pony and two milk cows, we had a major blowout on I-84. We pulled off and made it to a gas station. The gas station attendant called his brother who went home, came back with two jacks and helped lift the trailer (after off-loading the cows), put the new tire on and off we went. I tried to give him some money to buy a nice dinner but he wouldn’t have it. What a great guy. I don’t even know his name, so I’ll beam out some positive mental thoughts to good Samaritan guy in The Dalles with red hair. I owe you one, but since I’ll never see you again, I’ll pay it forward.
