Emmanuel Baptist

Emmanuel Baptist Church is having a Vacation Bible School for grades pre-kindergarten through sixth from Monday, July 8, to Friday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the church, at 2819 W. 10th St. The theme is “Colossal Coaster World, Facing Fear, Trusting, God.”

Covenant Christian

Bill Perkins, an internationally known author and speaker on men’s ministries, will be conducting a conference titled “Six battles Every Man Must Win,” at Covenant Christian Community Church in The Dalles June 21 and 22.

Perkins is a former pastor who has done conferences all over the nation for 15 years.

Registration for the conference begins Friday, June 21, at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6, followed by the first session at 7. Saturday’s events begin with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by morning sessions from 8:30 through 12:30 p.m.

Registration is $20 and includes both meals. Perkins’ books and resources will be available for sale at the conference.

Gateway Presbyterian

This Sunday, Interim Pastor Rich Zimmerman will share the message at the 8:30 a.m. traditional service and 11 a.m. contemporary service. A summer salad potluck is set for today, Friday, June 21, at 6 p.m. at Gateway and everyone is welcome. Next Sunday, June 30, will be one service, at 10 a.m.

Wednesday programs are: 6 p.m. youth group, women’s Bible study and men’s Bible study.

Dufur Christian

Vacation Bible School at Dufur Christian Church, for ages pre-school through fifth grade, is set to run from Thursday, June 20, to Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. It will conclude with a party and movie on Saturday, June 22, at Dufur Park from 7 p.m. The movie starts at dusk. Register online at
