Library offers wealth of children’s programs

— Summer brings a variety of children’s and adult activities to The Dalles-Wasco County Library, starting Mondays with game time for children ages 9 and older from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday evenings, the Teen Book Discussion Group starts at 6:30 p.m.

This Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m., is Toddler Time.

Thursday, June 27, begins with Healthy Story Time at 10:30 a.m., sponsored by the library and Planetree Health Resource Center. This is the last of these special programs.

It’s theme will be fire safety with Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue. From 11 a.m. to noon, free blood pressure screenings will be offered by Planetree.

Friday, June 28, Penny’s Puppet Productions brings a performance to the library at 10:30 a.m. for Preschool Story Time.

Penny’s joyful programs are designed to ignite the imagination and fill the room with excitement and laughter.

Penny’s live performances use puppets, story and song to inspire and entertain children of all ages.

Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., is a Lego Building Party for grades 4 to 8. Kids can use their imagination to build something for the library’s display case. Lego prizes will be given to three participants.
