Accidents

Wasco County

June 22, 1:12 p.m. – Two vehicle, head-on injury crash, Wamic Grade. Todd Alan Stephens, 44, Vancouver, Wash., and Michelle Horner, 48, Portland, were involved drivers. Vehicles collided on Wamic Grade. Horner and a passenger were taken to hospital for injuries. Stephens was also transported to the hospital but was arrested by state trooper.

June 22, 6:42 p.m. – Single vehicle, unknown injury accident, 2800 block of Threemile Road. Vehicle was found on its top in the area and was reported stolen by city police as the vehicle was about to be towed. No suspect information available.

June 23, 6:03 a.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Sevenmile and Dry Creek roads intersection. Christopher Barrett, 21, 5117 Mill Creek Rd., swerved off the road to avoid hitting two deer and hit a power pole snapping it in half.

June 24, 5:06 p.m. – Single vehicle, unknown injury crash, Threemile and Pleasant Ridge roads. Vehicle was found off the road where it had struck a telephone pole. No one was around when vehicle was discovered.

Rescue

June 21, 12:25 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 1600 block of East 9th Street on a report of a bark chip fire. Bystander advised he observed smoldering from some bark chips. He was able to find the coals and stomp them out.

June 22, 3:14 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 1900 block of East 19th Street on a report of an electrical fire. Bystander observed spark shoots out of conduit near a building. Nothing was showing upon arrival. The building was locked but access was gained and no fire was found. This appeared to be an issued with the main panel and the power was shut off to the building.

June 24, 1:30 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 1500 block of Jordan Street after a homeowner advised an electrical smell was coming through the home and a light in a bedroom may be arcing .Investigation discovered an old light fixture in the bedroom was no longer functioning properly.

Personnel also responded to five calls for emergency medical services Friday, nine Saturday, two Sunday and five Monday.

A theft report was taken Friday morning from the 2100 block of West 6th Street after an employee advised a male suspect fled without paying for gas.

A second-degree burglary report was taken Friday morning from the 1000 block of Hostetler Way after an employee advised someone entered the business overnight.

A theft of services report was taken Friday morning from the 2100 block of West 6th Street after an employee advised a vehicle full of males fled without paying for gas.

Police responded to the 1400 block of West 6th Street Friday afternoon after an employee advised three male subjects had stolen items from the store. Leonel Carbajal Flores, 18, Lindsey, Calif., was arrested near Kramer Field and is accused of second-degree theft. Juan Gutierrez Medrano, 19, Strathmore, Calif., was also arrested and is accused of second-degree theft. Adam Vicencio Gutierrez, 18, Exeter, Calif., was also arrested and is accused of second-degree theft.

Matthew Joseph Cobos, 36, 701 East 17th St., was arrested Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of Emerson Street on a circuit court warrant for violation of post-prison supervision sanctions.

A dog bite report was taken Friday afternoon from East 4th and Washington streets. The dogs were located and quarantined.

Christopher Sean Casteel, 26, no listed address, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of Emerson Street on a Sherman County warrant for probation violation.

A noise violation report was taken Friday evening from the 1600 block of East 11th Street after a complainant advised a neighbor had their music up too loud and signed a citizen’s compliant.

An unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree criminal mischief reports were taken Friday evening from the 1000 block of West 23rd Street after a victim reported their unlocked vehicle was entered and the glove box lock was destroyed.

A first-degree burglary report was taken Friday evening from the 1400 block of East 9th Street after a victim reported two male subjects enter the back door of her home while she was there.

Two male juveniles were cited for curfew violation early Saturday morning in the 1200 block of West 6th Street. They were given a ride home and released to their parents.

An informational report was taken Saturday morning from Riverfront Park after a caller reported a male subject with a brand new bike attempted to sell the bike to him for almost nothing. Suspect fled prior to officer arrival.

Police responded to the 1600 block of Garrison Street Saturday morning on an attempt to locate a wanted suspect. Officers had contact with the subject whobegan to have a seizure. He was taken to the hospital.

A hit and run report was taken Saturday afternoon from the 2600 block of West 2nd Street.

Deda Cathleen Carter, 39, 527 West 3rd Pl., was arrested Saturday afternoon during a traffic stop at West 6th and Webber streets and is accused of driving while suspended.

A stolen vehicle report was taken Saturday evening from the police station. The vehicle was recovered by deputies later in the evening after the vehicle was involved in an accident.

William Anthony Henry, 37, 322 W. 6th St., was arrested early Sunday morning at East 2nd and Union streets and is accused of probation violation.

A second-degree criminal mischief report was taken Sunday afternoon from the 800 block of West 2nd Street after an employee advised a security camera was taken overnight.

A harassment report was taken Sunday evening from the 600 block of Cherry Heights Road after a victim reported her boss harassed her at work. The incident is under investigation.

A runaway report was taken Sunday evening from the 1500 block of East 9th Street.

A found property report was taken early Monday morning from East 1st and Federal streets after an employee found an abandoned bike. The bike was taken to impound.

A theft report was taken Monday morning from the 800 block of West 10th Street after a victim reported their bicycle was stolen.

A found property report was taken Monday morning from the 400 block of Court Street after an abandoned bicycle was located outside the police station. The bike was placed in impound.

Joseph Eric Flock, 36, Wishram, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street on an out of state warrant for being a fugitive from Washington.

An attempted burglary report was taken Monday afternoon from the 900 block of Mt. Hood Street after a victim reported her back door showed signs of forced entry.

A theft report was taken Monday afternoon from the 1000 block of East 9th Street after a victim reported a check was missing from his home and cashed by the suspect.

A fraud report was taken Monday afternoon from the 700 block of West 12th Street.

A second-degree theft report was taken Monday afternoon from the700 block of Webber Street after a victim reported a storage container was taken from his vehicle.

A theft report was taken Monday afternoon from the 1000 block of Vey Way after a resident advised some prescription medicine was missing from their room.

Robert Andrew Rowan, 28, no listed address, was arrested Monday evening from the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street and is accused of third-degree theft. Rochelle Lynette Carter, 30, no listed address, also arrested and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

Nicholas Michael Lowe, 32, 1300 East 14th St., was arrested Monday evening at East 14th and Riverview streets and is accused of probation violation.

Wasco County

Richard Edwin Hunt, 50, Dufur, was arrested Friday evening in Dufur and is accused of menacing.

Mercedes Bolton, 58, Dufur, was arrested Friday evening during a traffic stop on Highway 197, milepost 6 and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Daniel Lynn Bolton, 57, Dufur, was also arrested and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

A criminal mischief report was taken early Saturday morning from Celilo Village after a caller reported his teenage son broke down a door in the home.

Tawnya Audreia Leavitt, 19, 5490 Hawley Rd., was arrested in her home Saturday morning and is accused of fourth-degree assault.

Deputy responded to the 3000 block of Threemile Road Saturday evening after receiving a report of a male subject lying in the ditch. Subject was highly intoxicated and had taken some prescription pills. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Deputy responded to the hospital early Sunday morning on a report of an assault. Staff reported that male subject was brought in with head injuries from an assault. Victim could not say where this took place but that he was camping with a friend at a cabin and they were drinking and his friend assaulted him.

Kevin Stevens, 47, Kingwood, Texas, was arrested early Sunday morning during a traffic stop on Highway 197 and Brett Clodfelter Way and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants and four counts of recklessly endangering.

An unlawful entry into a motor vehicle report was taken Sunday morning from the 2100 block of Dry Hollow Road after a victim reported several vehicles on her property were broken into overnight.

A criminal mischief report was taken Sunday morning after a deputy noticed a hole in the fence at the regional jail.

An informational report was taken Sunday evening from the hospital after a child was brought in with a fractured leg. Stories from the mom were inconsistent when initial hospital process was taking place but child services came to interview the child, the mom and grand mom and everything appeared ok.

A theft report was taken Monday afternoon from Maupin after a victim reported some items were taken from his vehicle while in the area over the weekend.

Chance Widner, 23, Mosier, was arrested Monday afternoon in his home and is accused of three counts of probation violation.

Oregon State Police

Ryan Fernando Soaries, 29, Moscow, Idaho, was arrested Friday morning on a traffic stop at East 1st and Federal streets on a warrant from the state of Hawaii.

Armando Flores Garcia, 18, 205 East 13th St., was arrested Friday afternoon in the 1300 block of West 6th Street and is accused of two counts of violation of a release agreement.

Eduardo Ortiz Castro, 29, Hood River, was arrested Friday afternoon in Mosier on a Hood River County warrant for probation violation. He is also accused of providing false information to a police officer.

Todd Alan Stephens, 44, Vancouver, was arrested Saturday afternoon during a crash investigation in Wamic and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and two counts of fourth-degree assault.

Trevor Duane Pederson, 27, Lyle, was arrested Saturday afternoon on the Columbia River on a circuit court warrant for failure to appear.

Sherman County

Pedro Arias Orozco, 19, Bend, was arrested Friday afternoon at the Sherman County courthouse and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

Darrell Matthew Hefter, 25, Yreka, Calif., was arrested Saturday evening during a traffic stop on Highway 97 near milepost 12 and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

Cayenne Sue Jepsen, 33, Dallesport, was arrested Monday evening in Rufus and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

Regional Jail

Joshua Daniel Aldrich, 35, Oakridge, was jailed Friday on a Sherman County court commitment for probation violation.

Ryan Jay Newton, 21, Wishram, was jailed Friday on a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

Johnathan James Goddard, 20, 1008 Snipes St., was jailed Sunday on a circuit court warrant for second-degree failure to appear.

Jeffrey Kirk Boyd, 19, Tygh Valley, was booked and released Monday on a circuit court commitment for harassment.

Eric Todd Slaymaker, 42, Aloha, was booked and released Monday on a circuit court commitment for providing false information to a police officer.

Lisa Jean McKinney, 48, Redwood City, Calif., turned herself in on a circuit court warrant for failure to appear.
