Sluggers end with a bang

The 10U National Junior Baseball Organization Sluggers team had their final tournament last weekend in Aloha and went 3-1 to claim third place. The Sluggers won their first game against Barlow, 13-0, and they won their second game against Gaston, 13-3.  In the third game against eventual champion Westview, both teams engaged in a battle, but in the end, the Sluggers were upended by an 8-7 score.   In a third and fourth place contest, the Sluggers bounced back to inch past Tualatin by an impressive 14-12 tally. The names of the team members are (pictured from left to right, in bottom row), Styles DeLeon, Cooper Cummings, Gio Avila, Dylan Waddington, Conner Blair and Quincy Townsend. In the middle row are (from left to right), Wyatt Townsend, Gabe Petroff, Austin Agidius, Peyton Beeks, Keegan Losee, and Shannon Pando. All of the coaches are in the back row led by Coach Steve Agidius (far left), Manager Bob Townsend, Coach Allen Beeks and Coach Nick DeLeon (far right).
