John Foley wasn’t sure what he had when he tried his iPhone 5’s panorama photo function at The Dalles Wahtonka High School’s Kurtz Gym during the Eagle Indians girls basketball game Tuesday in their state play-in win against Wilson, but when he blew it up to 6 feet wide, he found out he had something pretty special.
The 6-foot by 11½-inch image shows Kurtz in its Crimson and Gold splendor with a host of fans cheering the girls to their win. Foley took it from his seat in the rooting section of the gym and it describes a 180-degree arc.
While most cameras require multiple shots for panoramas, this one uses a panning (sweeping) feature.
Foley was so pleased with the image that he plans to frame his own copy, but he has also made it possible for others to get a copy, too.
He has left the photo on file at Staples so that anyone can have a copy printed in a size of their choosing.
