February 28, 12:12 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 1900 block of East 19th Street on a report of a water flow alarm. Upon arrival, nothing was showing. Contact was made with the plumber who advised there was no fire. Some welding inside had caused abnormal heat which triggered a sprinkler head to go off. No problem was found.

Personnel also responded to six calls for emergency medical services.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Police responded to the 900 block of Chenowith Loop Road Thursday morning on a report of a suspicious vehicle. Caller reported two male subjects were hanging around a van and acting suspiciously. Contact was made with the subjects who advised they were just talking, no problem was found.

A found bicycle report was taken Thursday morning after an officer located a bike; it was taken to impound.

Police responded to the 800 block of West 12th Street Thursday morning on a noise complaint. Caller reported a neighbor works on a pickup every morning and it has a really loud exhaust. Contact was made with the neighbor who was advised of the complaint. He stated he’d attempt to fix the truck to make it quieter.

A theft report was taken Thursday afternoon from the 100 block of West 7th Street after a victim reported their bicycle was stolen overnight.

Daniel Cortez Mora, 19, 920 East 8th St. was arrested Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop at West 10th and Snipes streets and is accused of driving while suspended.

William Jack Midland, 33, 422 West 14th St., was arrested Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop on West 8th and Chenowith streets on a circuit court warrant for second-degree failure to appear.

Police responded to the 900 block of Chenowith Loop Road Thursday afternoon after school administration advised two children never made it home from school. Caller called back shortly after initially reporting and advised the children were found safely at a friend’s home.

John Michael Doyle, 54, 800 East 13th St., was arrested Thursday evening in his home on a circuit court warrant for contempt of court.

Police responded to the 400 block of East 7th Street Thursday evening on a report of a suicidal subject. Contact was made with a female subject who had cut her wrist. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation. A report was taken.

Police responded to the 300 block of West 10th Street Thursday evening on a report of a domestic dispute. Contact was made with the man and woman involved and it was determined this was a verbal altercation about the woman taking the children. Both were warned of their conduct.

Police responded to the 2200 block of East 13th Street Thursday evening on a report of a dispute. Caller advised that several subjects were yelling outside for over an hour. Contact was made with the involved parties and it was determined this was a verbal dispute over a parking spot. All were warned of their conduct.

Police responded to West 6th and Pentland streets Thursday evening on a report of a domestic disturbance. Caller stated he could hear a man and womanscreaming at one another and sounds of things possibly breaking inside. Officers attempted to make contact at the suspected house but no one would answer the door.

Police responded to the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street Thursday evening on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Suspect fled the scene prior to officer arrival; a third-degree theft report was taken and is under investigation.

A juvenile female was cited for curfew violation early Friday morning at West 8th and Verdant streets. She was given a ride home and released to her parents.

Wasco County

Kathleen Marie Roberds, 55, Pine Hollow, was arrested Thursday afternoon in her home and is accused of possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed firearm, tampering with drug records, and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Deputy responded to the courthouse Thursday afternoon on a report of female screaming. Contact was made with the female who was angry over some issues with her children being taken away. She was taken to the hospital for an evaluation; a report was taken.

Regional Jail

Barry Curtis Helm, 49, Bend, was jailed Thursday for a circuit court commitment for two counts of misdemeanor wildlife offenses.

Michael Scott Winslow, 40, Wasco, was jailed Thursday on a Sherman County court commitment for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Parole and Probation

Jason Wesley Magill, 38, Hood River, was arrested Thursday morning in the 2100 block of West 9th Street and is accused of three counts of probation violation.

Molly Elizabeth Frizzell, 42, 3817 West 10th St. No. 1A was arrested Thursday afternoon in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.
