March 5, 5:28 p.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury crash, West 9th and Cherry Heights streets. Kyle McCall, 16, 3702 Browns Creek Rd. and Harvey Kahclamat, 62, 505½ East 10th St., were the involved drivers. McCall was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Wasco County

March 5, 9:22 p.m. – Single-vehicle, injury accident, Highway 197 north of the bridge in Maupin. Deputy responded to the scene of a vehicle in a ditch. Contact was made with the passenger who advised he was in the vehicle but blacked out during the incident and woke up in the car. The driver fled the scene. Passenger had some cuts and scrapes but declined medical attention. Incident is under investigation.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Police responded to the 2500 block of West 2nd Street Tuesday morning on a report of a suspicious subject. Caller advised a man in their apartment complex is continuing to talk to his young daughter and it makes her uncomfortable. The man told police he gave the little girl an eraser, he also said the girl’s father threatened to kill him afterwards. Police advised both men to stay away from each other.

Police responded to the 600 block of West 2nd Street Tuesday morning on a report of campers near Mill Creek. The campers told police they were stranded in town. They were asked to move along and did so.

Police responded to the high school Tuesday morning on a report of a possible abuse situation. A letter was seized and will be forwarded to detectives.

Police responded to the 400 block of West 14th Street Tuesday morning on a report of a dispute. Caller advised her sister called her and she could hear her sister’s boyfriend yelling in the background about their dog. Officer found the dog was fine and the sister appeared high. The boyfriend agreed to leave to calm the situation.

A runaway report was taken Tuesday afternoon from the 1500 block of West 4th Street.

Police responded to the 3200 block of West 7th Street Tuesday evening after a caller reported seeing several juveniles acting erratically in the street and screaming someone has a gun. Police found the gun in question was an airsoft gun, which parents locked up.

Police responded to the 1200 block of East 12th Street Tuesday evening on a report of a trespasser. Caller advised a man who had been causing problems earlier in the day was standing in his front yard when he drove up to his house, so he continued driving and called police. The trespasser was told to leave and did so.

Police responded to the 1000 block of Morton Street early Wednesday morning after a victim reported her vehicle was rummaged through overnight.

A report was taken early Wednesday morning from the 700 block of East 3rd Street after a caller reported walking in the area and noticed a door to a business was open. Investigation discovered there was forced entry into the business and several items were missing.

Wasco County

Deputy responded to the 2600 block of West 10th Street Tuesday morning on a report of a burglary. Victim advised someone had entered her home and had only taken two steaks from her fridge. There were no signs of forced entry. The information was logged.

Deputy responded to the 1300 block of Lambert Street early Wednesday on a report of a prowler. Victim called to report a male wearing dark clothing was on their property and set off an alarm to the shop. Wet footprints could be seen near the shop. Deputies could not find the prowler.

Deputy responded to the 1100 block of Lambert Street early Wednesday morning on a report of a vehicle prowler. Victim advised their vehicle was gone through overnight but nothing appeared to be missing.

Oregon State Police

A male driver was cited and released for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, no operator’s license and driving uninsured during a traffic stop Tuesday evening on East 2nd and Madison streets.

Parole and Probation

Billie Leon Pendergrass, 58, 4109 Chenowith Rd. No. A-10, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the community corrections office and is accused of violation of post-prison supervision sanctions.
