Rescue

March 13, 11:14 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 400 block of Court Street on a report of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival no vehicle was found in the parking lot on fire, but a hedge was found recently extinguished. Contact was made with a bystander who advised he used his personnel extinguisher to put the fire out before it could reach a power pole. Crews mopped up the fire and left.

March 13, 4:59 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 600 block of West 15th Street on a report of a fire alarm. Upon arrival nothing was showing. The building appeared to be secure and the gate was locked to the home. A responsible party arrived and let crews into the site where the home was checked. All was clear with no problem found. The alarm was reset.

Personnel also responded to two calls for emergency medical services.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Police responded to The Dalles Wahtonka HIgh School Wednesday morning on a report of a student in custody for stealing another student’s property. The juvenile male was contacted and cited for second-degree theft; he remained under custody by administrators until his mother could pick him up.

Police responded to the 2100 block of West 10th Street Monday morning on a report of a toddler wandering the street by himself. The child was located and returned home. Contact was made with the mother who advised she was sleeping and the child must have gotten out of the home. An informational report was taken and will be forwarded to child services.

Police responded to the 600 block of Wasco Drive Monday morning on a report of suspicious subjects. Caller reported a male and female subject came onto his property going through his garbage. Contact was made with the suspects who advised they were collecting cans. They were advised they could collect cans off the sidewalk but could not come onto property to gather them.

Police responded to the 3300 block of Columbia View Drive Wednesday afternoon on a report of a resident that had marijuana in his possession. Contact was made with the suspect and he was cited and released for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

A found bicycle report was taken Wednesday afternoon from the 3200 block of West 7th Street. The property was collected and taken to impound.

Police responded to the 700 block of West 12th Street Wednesday afternoon on a report of a domestic disturbance. Reporting party advised they observed a mother forcing their juvenile daughter inside the home. Contact was made with the subjects involved. It was determined the juvenile had run away and was found by the mother and she was trying to get her inside. The juvenile had drug paraphernalia on her. She was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana within 1000 feet of a school and released back to the mother.

Police responded to West 10th and Jordan streets Wednesday afternoon on a report of harassment. A passing bus driver reported seeing two older juveniles harassing younger kids in the area. The area was checked but no disturbance was found.

A hit and run report was taken Wednesday afternoon from the 1300 block of West 6th Street.

Police responded to the Mill Creek footbridge Wednesday evening on a report of two subjects camping by the creek. Contact was made with the male and female subjects who were advised of the city ordinances; they were asked to move along.

A burglary report was taken Wednesday evening from the 300 block of East 13th Street after a victim reported his brother broke into his parents’ shed and took some items; the incident is under investigation.

Police responded to Thompson Park Wednesday evening on a report of a subject camping in the area. Contact was made with the subject who was warned of his conduct and asked to move along.

Cody Allen Watson, 25, Yakima, was arrested Wednesday evening in the 1900 block of Dry Hollow Road on a Multnomah County warrant for contempt of court and a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

Nicholas Michael Lowe, 31, no listed address, was arrested early Thursday morning in the 100 block of Union Street on two circuit court warrants for first and second-degree failure to appear.

Wasco County

Mandy Anne Caldwell, 25, Springfield, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 86000 block of Steuber Road on four Lane County warrants for failure to appear.

Second-degree possession of a controlled substance report was taken Wednesday afternoon from the regional jail.

Deputy responded to the 3800 block of West 10th Street Wednesday evening on a report of a disturbance. Contact was made with several residents who were having a civil dispute. They were advised to work it out and stay away from one another.

Deputy responded to the 8800 block of Jewel Road Wednesday evening on a report of an out of control juvenile. Contact was made and the juvenile was arrested and is accused of menacing and lodged at the regional jail.

Regional Jail

Bryant Jeffrey Tarter Stith, 21, Pendleton, was jailed Wednesday on a Sherman County court commitment for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Sarah Anne Phetteplace, 32, Beaverton, was transported and jailed Wednesday on a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

Jordan Charles Bay, 31, Gresham, was transported and jailed Wednesday on a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

Jacob Allen Bright, 34, Madras, was transported and jailed Wednesday on a Sherman County warrant for failure to appear.

Parole and Probation

James Edward Wham, 25, 722 East 14th St., was arrested Wednesday morning in his home and is accused of probation violation.

Tiffany Christine Greenslade, 21, 1314 Laughlin St., was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.
