Letter to the Editor: Renewed faith

— Renewed faith

To the editor:

These days it’s not too often we get a chance to witness an unexpected act of kindness and generosity coming out of the blue.

Last weekend, I went to Goldendale to watch my grandson, Mark, play against a very talented Goldendale team.

Later that evening, I was at home when the telephone rang. It was a young lady named Cindy from Goldendale, who informed me that she had my wallet! I had no idea that my wallet had fallen out of my pocket while at the game. It contained the usual credit cards, my driver’s license, some money and other miscellaneous bits of information that we all carry.

I got a scary vision of getting on the phone and trying to contact all parties concerned to correct my loss. Cindy told me it had been found and turned into the announcer and graciously offered to meet me at Biggs the next day and bring it to me. We met the next afternoon and she returned my lost billfold with all the contents intact.

She reluctantly accepted a small reward, along with my sincere thanks for her trouble.

I would also like to publicly thank the person who originally found my wallet and turned it in.

There is some hope for us after all.
