Oregon State Police

March 27, 10:30 a.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury accident in overflow parking area at Biggs Junction. A semi truck driven by Thomas Barnhart of Federal Way sideswiped another semi truck, driven by Hassan Shueb of Georgia, causing very minor damage. Trooper assisted with information exchange.

The Dalles City

A soda pop vending machine was reported damaged Tuesday night in the 1,100 block of West Second Street. It was overturned and a board was stuck through it.

A female, 26, was cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured and was arrested on a municipal warrant Wednesday morning.

A car prowl was reported in the 600 block of Brentwood Drive Wednesday morning.

Two vehicles in the 1100 block of Eric Court were reported ransacked and a stereo stolen from one Wednesday morning.

Renters of a storage unit in the 700 block of Snipes Street found a new lock on their storage unit. When the lock was removed Wednesday morning, they found that a Dewalt pressure washer valued at $999 was missing.

A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 3,000 block of West 7th Street Wednesday morning.

A bike was reported stolen in the 1500 block of East 9th Street, taken sometime Wednesday morning. Bike is a mountain bike, blue and silver Schwinn with a blue seat.

A man yelling outside a home in the 1000 block of Pomona Street was intoxicated and arrested for parole violations early Thursday morning.

Wasco County

A 20-gauge shotgun was reported lost in the 89000 block of Bakeoven Road. Hunter left the rifle leaning against his truck and left, was not there when he returned a half hour later.

Deputies assisted in a search for stolen property at a residence in the 4400 block of West Highway 30 Wednesday.

Mail was reported stolen from a mailbox in the 7,000 block of Dell Road West Wednesday.

Oregon State Police

Oregon State Police (OSP) is seeking witnesses related to a reckless driving arrest late Wednesday morning on Highway 26 east of Government Camp.

On March 27, at 11:09 a.m., OSP Northern Command Center dispatch received reports of a white four-door passenger car with Oregon plates westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 86 being operated recklessly. Near collisions, failing to maintain a lane of travel, and traveling on the wrong side of highway were reported. Some people reported being run off the road.

Subsequent contact led to the arrest of the 27-year old driver for reckless driving.

Trooper Holloran is asking for contact from any witnesses who didn’t stop at the traffic stop scene to call for a statement at (541) 980-1019.

Kevin J. Benefield, 63, was arrested in Hood River Thursday afternoon and is charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Regional Jail

David Jaafe Wentworth, 21, 212½ 14th Street, The Dalles, was arrested at his home and faces two charges of first-degree theft-conspiracy, four counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and probation violation.

William R. Carlson, Jr., 2525 West 8th Street, The Dalles, was jailed on a warrant for failure to appear on felony driving under the influence and driving while suspended charges.

Parole and Probation

Sina L. Fanene, 28, was lodged at NORCOR Friday morning on probation violations.

Catina M. V. Chavez, 39, was lodged Thursday afternoon for parole violations.

Jimmy L. Cain, 20, The Dalles, was lodged Thursday afternoon on probation violations.

Matthew M.O. Geary, 29, The Dalles, was lodged Thursday afternoon on probation violations.

Victor L. Solis, 22, of Moses Lake, Wash., was lodged Thursday morning on parole violations.

Tracy A. Portner, 44, 4405 Highway 30 Apt. 714, was lodged Thursday morning and faces charges of first-degree theft by receiving and possession of methamphetamine.

Mihail I. Kuznetsov, 34, 931 Harvey Lane, Molalla, was lodged on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

Heidi F. F. Fisher, 2700 West 7th Street, The Dalles, was lodged and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and third-degree theft.
