The race to represent Zone 2 on the North Wasco County School District 21 school board is down to one. John Fredrick, the incumbent being challenged by Dean McAllister, dropped out of the race May 1.
“I know the issues that face North Wasco County School District 21 and we need board members that can commit time and energy to take on those challenges. I do not currently have that time,” he wrote in a letter to the district.
He said he and his wife are working 12 to 14 hour days, sometimes seven days a week, to keep up with a recent growth spurt in his cleaning and property management business.
Fredrick said after his conversations with McAllister he feels the candidate “shares the same values, concerns and support for the quality education our children in NWCSD 21 deserve” and he feels comfortable supporting him during the upcoming election.
