Cellular Connection celebrates opening

— The largest Verizon Premium Wireless Retailer in the United States, the Cellular Connection, is launching its first store in The Dalles with a noon ribbon-cutting Friday, May 17, part of an all-day grand opening event.

The Dalles store, located at 400 Mt. Hood St. across from Staples, is the 10th store in Oregon. It uses the company’s “Rockstar” layout, which is designed to give customers hands-on access to the latest wireless devices. The back of the store is a lounge area with couches and chairs, giving guests a comfortable place to play with devices and accessories.

“We’re ecstatic to have the opportunity to continue our growth in Oregon and share our wireless experience with the residents of The Dalles,” said Scott Moorehead, president and CEO of The Cellular Connection. In celebration of the new store, the company will make a charitable donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

A variety of wall-mounted lifestyle stations in the store include a home solutions area with products including a wireless multi-room audio system, a device linking home phones to the cellular network and other products. Other lifestyle stations are categorized as “Vibe,” “Pulse” and “Gear,” each displaying different products and accessories.

In celebration of the grand opening, local radio stations will have live remotes through the day and The Cellular Connection will give away gift bags to the first 25 customers who attend. They can also register to win a free Bluetooth headset, prizes and promotional items.
