Moro The Sherman Experiment Station field day is planned for Wednesday June 12.
Oregon State University and USDA Agricultural Research Service are co-hosting this field day for the agricultural community. Anyone with an interest in agriculture is encouraged to attend.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Sherman County Fairground. The program will begin at 8 with an address from a representative of OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences. Field tours will begin at 8:25 a.m.
The fairgrounds are one mile south of Moro on Lonerock Road. The field day features presentations by university and ARS scientists. Tours include presentations on returning CRP land to crop production, new insights into wheat disease and management, production of biennial canola, updates on statewide wheat variety trials and development of common and club wheat varieties.
A naming dedication will take place at the new building 11:30 a.m. to honor the contributions of Steve Burnet, who was instrumental in its construction. A hosted lunch is provided at noon.
