The Dalles Lions members attended the Lions MD-36 State Convention May 17 and 18 in Pendleton.
The members attended different forums covering such items as Membership, Sight & Hearing, Club Functions, Public Relations and Public Speaking. The Convention was also attended by the current Lions Club International Foundation President, Dr. Tam, who updated everyone on the current projects that Lions are doing worldwide to combat sight and hearing issues and trying to eradicate measles by 2017.
“Learning about all the work that the Lions Club International and the Sight and Hearing Foundations do worldwide was just amazing, and gave me a sense of pride in being part of such a great organization,” Kate Mast said. “But I was also intrigued and inspired as I heard about all the different projects that Lions Clubs are accomplishing in their local communities. Some seemed just impossible, but they got them done. I can’t wait to get back to The Dalles Lions Club and get to work.”
