PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Nearly 1,000 Oregon National Guard employees must take unpaid leave this summer. Oregon Military Department spokesman Capt. Stephen Bomar said Wednesday that the furlough will affect everyone from mechanics to administrative personnel. The employees some civilian, some military, will be required to take 11 days off between July 8 and Sept. 30.
Bomar says managers will try to limit the impact by making sure workers don’t all take the same days off.
