The Dalles Get out and vote
To the editor:
It is hard for me to believe that we have so many businesses and individuals willing to donate so much money for a 30-minute fireworks display. Like they say, “More money than brains.”
A lot of people won’t be able to see them, no matter where or when they are shown. Just think of the traffic congestion. Good luck.
We can’t seem to find enough people interested enough in seeing we get a swimming pool that could be 24-7 if it were available. We also lost a bowling alley that was well-used. Now people have to drive to Hood River to bowl and some even go for swimming.
Our town is slowly drying up with all the empty businesses and empty lots downtown with nothing open in the evenings and very few on Sunday while the west side is taking off.
It’s not very interesting driving through a lot of residential areas seeing all the empty houses with dried up lawns and houses with so much junk around them. It’s too bad Neighborhood Watch has no say about their neighbors.
Get out and vote for a new pool. Vote. Vote. Vote. You’ll make a lot of residents very happy.
