Letter to the Editor: Vote yes, or no pool

Closing soon

To the editor:

As a previous NWPRD board member I can tell you from sitting in eight years of meetings that this pool will close in the near future. Your choice is simple: vote yes or no pool. Let me paint a picture of the reality of life without a pool. This would hit TD economy very hard. It is bigger than just an empty store front. It is a massive gaping cement hole in the ground at the gateway of TD. It tells all future Physicians, engineers, teachers, policeman etc. to stay away because our town doesn’t care about families. Without a pool we are depriving our kids of inexpensive and needed swim lessons, taking jobs away from teenage lifeguards and losing a huge family recreational opportunity.

If you’re not voting for the pool because it doesn’t have a cover realize that you missed your chance two bond attempts ago. A covered pool is twice the cost! The people of TD spoke and wanted to only fund “the same exact pool”. Well, this is a 50 meter pool to replace a 50 meter pool!

I challenge you to get the word out. We lost the last pool bond 35.1 percent to 64.9 percent. If you think this pool bond will pass without every single yes vote you are wrong. Tell 10 people you are voting for the pool.
