Breaking badly at check in

The Dalles Police were called to the library Saturday afternoon after staff received a returned DVD and checked it, only to have a baggie containing a white powder fall out.

Officers checked the trace of powder, and it tested positive for methamphetamine. As for the DVD itself, it was the critically acclaimed cable TV show “Breaking Bad,” about a terminally ill chemistry teacher who decides to make methamphetamine to secure his family’s financial future. The library did not know who returned the DVD, and security cameras did not capture it either. The camera will be adjusted to cover the front counter.
