HOOP STARS from Mid-Columbia Medical Center and Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue will go head-to-head this Saturday in a basketball benefit for Special Olympics of The Gorge starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Dalles Wahtonka High School’s Kurtz Gym. Described as “an epic basketball challenge,” the event allows the audience to interact by buying hindrances off a menu. In one example, the audience can make a team play in boxing gloves for a portion of the game. This family-friendly event will include a special half-time show involved local Special Olympics athletes. Sparky the Fire Dog will also be on hand.
